Durban – A man has been shot dead in an early Wednesday morning car hijacking at the corner of Bluff Road and Chamberlain Road in Jacob’s area south of Durban.
ALS Paramedics the incident occurred around 06:15.
“Paramedics were called to the scene of the shooting and arrived to find SAPS [SA Police Service] on scene with the area cordoned off,” said ALS Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson.
“Paramedics were shown to a male believed to be in his 30s who had sustained gunshot wounds to his chest.
“Paramedics assessed the man, however, he had sustained fatal injuries and there was nothing Paramedics could do for him and he was declared deceased on the scene.”
Reports from the scene suggested that the man was shot during a hijacking.
The dead man has not yet been named.
Police are investigating.
No arrests have been made.
