Pienaar – Two people have succumbed to gunshot wounds in hospital bringing the number of deaths from the deadly Saturday morning Pienaar tavern shooting to eight.
Six people died on the spot when gunmen opened fire at the tavern in the early hours in Mpumalanga.
Several others were wounded and hospitalised.
One person has since been discharged from the hospital. Two others remain hospitalised.

Mpumalanga police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Jabu Ndubane said the police found cars riddled with bullets on the crime scene.
“Two VW Polo vehicles were also found at the scene with bullet holes and one of the victims was found dead inside one of the vehicles,” Lieutenant Colonel Ndubane.
“The motive behind the shooting was still unknown at this stage, and circumstances surrounding this incident were still under investigation.”
Lieutenant Colonel Ndubane said no arrests had yet been made, but a team of experts had been assembled to investigate the deadly shooting.
Mpumalanga Acting Police Commissioner Major General Zeph Mkhwanazi said: “We are very much concerned about these shooting incidents that have occurred recently in our province, however, we are working around the clock to ensure that perpetrators thereof are swiftly brought to book”.
Mpumalanga Health MEC Sasekani Manzini said: “The department will continue to monitor the progress of the two patients who are still under our care.
“Initially the department received five patients of which one died on arrival, and another one died a few hours later.
“One is in the Intensive Care Unit and one is in a stable condition. Only one patient has since been discharged.”
