Cape Town –  Hisense South Africa has officially launched the highly anticipated U7Q Mini-LED TV, raising the bar for gaming, sports viewing, and cinematic experiences across the country.

Proudly manufactured at the brand’s Atlantis facility, the U7Q merges global tech excellence with local innovation, and is backed by Hisense SA’s industry-leading four-year warranty.

This unmatched commitment to quality and customer satisfaction makes Hisense the most trusted name in premium television technology.

“With the U7Q, we’re not just introducing a television, we’re introducing a whole new standard for immersive, responsive entertainment that’s proudly made on home soil,” said Luna Nortje, Deputy General Manager at Hisense SA.

“Not only does it offer a Mini-LED backlight, but the 100-inch U7Q will also boast a 165Hz Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) which is a first for South Africa, delivering ultra-smooth motion for gaming and fast-paced content like never before.

“This TV is a dream for gamers, sports fans, and anyone who values vibrant, high-performance visuals.”

The Hisense U7Q is proudly manufactured in SA, supporting local jobs and contributing to the growth of the country’s local manufacturing sector.

Hisense SA’s Atlantis factory ensures rigorous quality standards while allowing quicker distribution and local support.

Hisense’s U7Q brings Mini-LED technology to the mainstream, offering dramatically improved brightness, deeper contrast, and enhanced energy efficiency compared to traditional LED and even QLED TVs.

While QLED TVs enhanced brightness and color via quantum dot layers, they still rely on conventional LED backlighting with limited local dimming capabilities.

This often results in less accurate contrast and shadow detail.

Mini-LED, on the other hand, shrinks the size of the backlight LEDs significantly – allowing for thousands more lights and hundreds of local dimming zones.

This leads to better contrast, deeper blacks, and higher brightness while maintaining vivid color performance.

Advantages of Mini-LED over QLED:

  • More Precise Contrast Control: With significantly more local dimming zones, Mini-LED TVs like the U7Q reduce halo effects and offer near-OLED black levels.
  • Higher Peak Brightness: Perfect for HDR content and bright viewing environments.
  • Longer Lifespan and No Burn-In Risk: Unlike OLED, Mini-LED is not prone to image retention or burn-in, making it ideal for long-term use.
  • Energy Efficient: Smaller, more focused LEDs allow for better energy management.

With hundreds of local dimming zones, Anti-Reflection technology, Quantum Dot Color, and Pantone-validated visuals, every viewing moment becomes more lifelike than ever with the U7Q Mini-LED TV.

“Gamers in particular will love how the U7Q handles action,” Nortje added.

“We’ve built this model with 144Hz VRR (the 100inch comes with groundbreaking 165hz), Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM), AMD Freesync Premium Pro, and our new Game Bar interface because a competitive edge starts with your screen.”

Sound hasn’t been left behind. The U7Q delivers 2.1.2-channel Multi-Channel Surround Sound with Dolby Atmos tuning, all of which will be unlockable via a complimentary software update.

Meanwhile, IMAX Enhanced, Dolby Vision, and Filmmaker Mode turn movie night into a cinematic spectacle, just in time for Hisense’s role as the Official Partner of the FIFA Club World Cup 2025.

The U7Q also represents superior build quality, with a Metal base, aluminium front covers and a 1.4 mm frame, meaning you get more screen for your viewing pleasure.

The Hisense U7Q Mini-LED TV is the culmination of Hisense’s deep investment in premium display technology.

It delivers top-tier features at a more accessible price point, reinforcing Hisense’s reputation for offering value without compromising quality.

The U7Q will be available in sizes from 55” (starting at R12 999,00) up to the 100” (retailing at R69 999,00), with rollouts commencing in South Africa from June.

With a commitment to affordability, reliability, performance, and proudly assembled by South Africans, the U7Q confirms Hisense’s position as a category leader in Mini-LED technology on the African continent.
