Durban – One person has been killed and four others injured in a head-on collision along Bellair Road, near the BP Garage, in Cato Manor.
ALS Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson said they were alerted about the deadly crash just after 16:00 on Sunday, 27 July 2025.
Jamieson said when paramedics arrived on the crash scene, they found two badly damaged vehicles in the roadway.
“A quick triage was done, and immediately more ambulances as well as Advanced Life Support paramedics, together with Ethekweni Fire Department, were dispatched to assist,” the spokesperson said.
“One occupant believed to be in his 30s in the light motor vehicle had sustained major injuries, and unfortunately, there was nothing paramedics could do for him, and he was declared deceased on the scene,” said Jamieson.
“Four other casualties were treated on scene by Advanced Life Support paramedics before being transported to various Durban hospitals for the further care that they required.”
Police were on the scene, but the name of the deceased has been withheld until the next of kin have been informed of the tragedy.
