However, on Monday, 16 February 2026, Makhadzi Entertainment announced that the singer had been given a clean bill of health and was ready to take the stage again.

In a statement made available to The Bulrushes, Makhadzi Entertainment said, “Makhadzi has been cleared to return back to work by her doctors.

“Makhadzi went for a check-up on Friday morning in Polokwane, after which she was given a green light to continue her work.

“The doctors are happy with her recovery, and after going through all the checks, they are satisfied with her recovery.”

Commenting on her health, Makhadzi, whose music is a vibrant fusion of traditional Venda rhythms with contemporary beats, creating a sound that resonates witha wide audience, reassured fans saying: “I am feeling good and would like to thank all the staff members, the nurses, and the doctors from Netcare, Pholosho in Polokwane for taking care of me from day one”.

The singer thanked her mother, father, family, team, and her followers “for all the prayers and messages of support”.

Makhadzi also thanked Sport, Art and Culture Minister Gayton McKenzie, Limpopo Premier Dr. Phophi Ramathuba, her executive, Polokwane Mayor John Mpe, AFRIMA, and the Munguambe Foundation.

Makhadzi spokesperson Lucky Tshilimandila said Makhadzi’s comeback show has been scheduled for 1 May 2026 at the Fountains, Pretoria.

“She has been busy making music during her recovery period, and fans can expect new music coming very soon,” promised Tshilimandila.
