Middleburg – A 51-year-old estate agent, Helga Kruger, this week appeared in Middelburg Commercial Crime Court facing fraud charges related to an RDP house that she allegedly sold for R100 000 eight years ago.
The accused was arrested before she appeared in court on Thursday, (14 October 2022).
Allegations are that on 24 June 2014 Kruger advertised the sale of RDP houses in the Tokologo Section, Middelburg, on behalf of Housing First Property CC.
She allegedly sold the property to the complainant for R100 000.
Kruger is alleged to have requested the buyer to pay the money into the business account of Foto Security Services.
The offer to purchase indicates that Housing First CC was the seller of the Properties and it was registered in the name of Annica van Staden, also an accused in the matter.
Allegations are that the rightful owner of the property did not give anyone permission or mandate to sell the property.
Kruger has been added as the third accused in the fraud matter. She joins 55-year-old Fotoboy Makua known as Fofo and 46-year-old Van Staden.
Makua and Van Staden were released on bail.
Captain Dineo Lucy Sekgotodi explained that property that has been sold can only be transferred and registered in the name of the buyer after the conveyor attorney receives the money in their trust account.
The case was postponed to 26 October for a Legal Aid representative.
Kruger remains in custody.
