Months after the singer of the monster hit “Gangsta’s Paradise” – Coolio was found unresponsive in a friend’s bathroom, his family has been told he died from a drug overdose.

The rapper, who was among hip-hop’s biggest names of the 1990s with hits including “Fantastic Voyage,” died Wednesday, 28 September 2022, in Los Angeles.

Coolio, whose real name was Artis Leon Ivey, Jr., died at 59. At the time, authorities suspected a cardiac arrest.

However, on Friday it emerged that Coolio died of fentanyl, according to his official cause of death.

A report into his cause of death showed that fentanyl, heroin, and methamphetamines were found in his system.
