Pretoria – The N4 has been closed between Solomon Mahlangu Drive and Simon Vermooten Road for emergency restoration of the 132 KV line after the collapse of pylons in the area.
The South African National Roads Agency SOC Limited (SANRA) has notified the City of Tshwane of the closure of the N4 east freeway.
This is the scene where the pylons were vandalised and the powerlines fell on the road surface last week on Sunday, leading to a massive power outage affecting large parts of Pretoria East, North, and a portion of the South.

The City of Tshwane said work to reinstate a double circuit 132 KV line began on Monday at 21:00.
The road will be re-opened when the work has been completed.
It is expected that the work will not take more than six hours.
Motorists are advised to use alternative routes during the road closure period.
