Delareyville – Fraud-accused and former Post Office branch manager, Kefilwe Tshabalala, appeared briefly in the Delareyville Magistrate’s Court, in the North West, on Friday and was granted R10 000 bail.

The 37-year-old is accused of scamming accounts of South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) social grant beneficiaries, which she allegedly deposited into her bank accounts.

Tshabalala was arrested by the Hawks on Wednesday, (26 April 2023), and charged with 68 counts of fraud and 68 of money laundering, amounting to over R1,2 million.

As part of her bail conditions, the accused was ordered not to interfere with the witnesses, surrender her passport, and report to the nearest police station every Monday between 06:00 and 18:00.

The Delareyville Magistrate’s Court postponed Tshabalala’s fraud case to 26 May 2023 for consultation.
