Johannesburg – The Empire Partner Foundation has announced it is pioneering a tech week event and awards programme that will give South African innovators a chance to be recognised for their tech contributions.
The recently announced tech week and awards extravaganza will see hundreds of tech innovators gather in Johannesburg for the action-packed event.
The South African Annual Tech for Innovation and Social Impact Awards will be hosted in collaboration with the MICT SETA.
The inaugural awards programme will be held at Gallagher Estate, Johannesburg, on November 6 2023.
This inaugural event celebrates the work of individuals and organisations in the technology sector who have made a significant contribution to social impact and innovation.
The tech sector has become a major source of economic growth fuelling the South African economy.
As an innovation industry, the tech sector has impacted how everyone communicates and access information, distribute products and services, and address critical societal problems.
This year’s awards ceremony will feature keynote speakers from some of the most influential figures in the industry, including renowned innovators, entrepreneurs, and academics who have helped to shape the technology landscape in South Africa.
This immersive formal black-tie tech affair will feature an elegant night of live entertainment, dining, dancing, fundraising, and an awards ceremony.
Five hundred 500 people are expected to join the event, as leaders and experts in the field of technology. G
overnment officials have also been invited.
The awards will recognise achievements across a range of categories, including innovation, social impact, entrepreneurship, and sustainability.
The nominees for each category will be carefully selected by a panel of judges from across the technology sector in South Africa.
