Pretoria – Mamelodi Sundowns have dedicated the #MTN8 Cup to the late Jayden Adams, who tragically passed away at the age of 25, reportedly by suicide, shortly after the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Teboho Mokoena and Iqraam Rayers scored for Masandawana in the 2026 MTN8 final against Orlando Pirates at Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on Saturday, 10 October 2026.
The victory not only saw Sundowns wrestle the cup from Pirates, but also pocket a cool R10 million winner’s prize.
Pirates had been vying for a fifth consecutive MTN8 Cup win, but were shut out by brilliant goalkeeping from Ronwen Williams.
In a fitting gesture, Sundowns dedicated their win to their much-loved fallen number 8, Jayden Adams.
