Major Pipe Leak Disrupts Water Supplies To Queenswood, Surrounding Areas, Repairs To Take 20 Hours

Pretoria – An unplanned water supply interruption is affecting Queenswood and nearby areas, the City of Tshwane announced on Thursday.

“The City of Tshwane’s Water and Sanitation Department team of plumbers is attending to a major water leak on the main bulk pipeline which supplies the Queenswood East and West Reservoirs,” said the  City of Tshwane in a terse statement.

The following areas have been affected: 

  • Colbyn 
  • Deerness 
  • Koedoespoort 
  • Koedoespoort 325-JR 
  • Môregloed 
  • Queenswood 
  • Rietfontein 
  • Rietfontein 321-JR 
  • Rietondale 
  • Villieria 
  • Waverley 
  • Wonderboom South 

“It is estimated that the repair work will be completed within the next 20 hours,” said the City of Tshwane. 

“Water tankers have been arranged to service customers in the affected areas. 

“The city apologises profusely for the inconvenience this unplanned interruption has caused.”
