Johannesburg – EthiQal, a leading professional medical indemnity provider to medical specialists, has expressed its ppreciation to the exceptional medical doctors across South Africa, who dedicate their lives to making a difference.

EthiQal CEO Alex Brownlee said in celebration of National Doctors’ Day, and as part of, “our mission to support healthcare professionals, we are proud to announce a donation of R50 000 to Operation Healing Hands, led by Dr. Heléne Basson”.

This charity provides life-changing surgical care to those in need, reflecting our shared values of compassionate care and positive impact.

Today, EthiQal celebrates its 8th anniversary, having recently joined forces with iTOO Special Risks through a strategic partnership, and backed by Hollard.

Earlier this year, in July, iTOO announced that it had entered a strategic partnership with EthiQal – a medical professional indemnity specialist.

The partnership reinforces the comprehensive suite of medical malpractice insurance cover available across the spectrum.

iTOO’s focus on allied professionals, General Practitioners, institutions, and clinical trials continues and EthiQal remains focused on specialist practitioners.

This partnership unlocks valuable opportunities to achieve the shared vision of strengthening the protection of the medical profession.

In a statement on Saturday, (16 November 2024), EthiQal said: “Aligned with the theme ‘The Difference is You,’ we recognise the extraordinary commitment of doctors who bring hope and healing to communities every day, with unparalleled compassion and expertise”.

The statement added: “Together, we honour and support the doctors who embody these values”.

Doctors confront challenges daily, yet they consistently rise to the occasion – delivering critical care, saving lives, and offering comfort in moments of uncertainty.

Their dedication transcends the walls of clinics and hospitals, extending into communities where their positive impact is deeply felt.

The statement continued: “At EthiQal, we are inspired by the work they do and remain committed to supporting them as they make an extraordinary difference”.

EthiQal CEO Alex Brownlee said: “On behalf of the entire EthiQal family, we want to thank South Africa’s doctors for the remarkable difference they make in so many lives.

“Their unwavering commitment, resilience, and skill are at the heart of healthier futures for all. We are immensely proud to support them, today and always.”

Brownlee added: “Thank you to all doctors – today, and every day. The difference is you”.
