REMANDED IN CUSTODY: For police sergeants - Danisile Precious Mahlangu, Bongani Dlamini, Mandla Saky Ndlovu, and Doctor Zulu - face accusations of stealing money

Barberton – Four police detectives accused of stealing cash are spending the weekend behind bars after they were remanded in custody in Mpumalanga.

The accused – all of them with the rank of sergeant – 47-year-old Danisile Precious Mahlangu, 49-year-old Mandla Saky Ndlovu, 40-year-old Bongani Dlamini, and 42-year-old  Doctor Zulu appeared in the Barberton Magistarte’s Court on Friday, 15 November 2024.

The police officers attached to Barberton detectives services face charges of theft of cash and defeating the ends of Justice.  

Mpumalanga Hawks spokesperson Captain Dineo Lucy Sekgotodi said the accused will next appear in court on Tuesday, (19 November 2024), for bail applications.
