Pretoria – The City of Tshwane has warned that some areas will be without power this morning to allow for emergency repairs.
In a terse statement, the City of Tshwane said that it was shutting down the power supply at the Belle Ombre Main-Feed Substation on Saturday, (28 December 2024), to carry out emergency repairs of electrical components that could cause a fire.
The City of Tshwane said: “Unfortunately, this inevitable work will negatively impact on the power supply to residents and business amenities in the Pretoria Central Business District and nearby areas for four hours, from 07:00 until 12:00”.
The following areas will be affected:
- Pretoria Central Business District
- Sunnyside
- Arcadia
- Muckleneuk
- Groenkloof
- Marabastad
- Pretora West industrial areas
- Capital Park
- Daspoort
- Pretoria Gardens
- Hermanstad
- Hercules
- Innesdale
- Gezina Residents are urged to always treat all apparatus as live.
“The city apologises profusely for the inconvenience that may arise as a result of this emergency repair work,” the statement said.
