Johannesburg – The police constable who shot dead a soccer-loving resident of Protea Glen, Soweto, on Boxing Day, has been arrested.
Since the fatal shooting, the constable linked to the Railway Protection and Security Services at Park Station, Johannesburg, failed to report for work and had not been seen since.

However, the Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) said the wanted constable was traced to Atteridgeville in Tshwane, where he was arrested just after 17:00 on Friday, (17 December 2024).
IPID said the murder-accused police constable was expected to appear before the Protea Magistrate’s Court on Monday, (30 December 2024).
“The murder weapon will also be taken to the Forensic Laboratory for analysis,” IPID said.
