Pretoria – Tshwane Metro Police Department (TMPD) arrest 64 drivers for “drink driving” over the weekend.
TMPD said the drunk drivers were arrested on Friday and Saturday.
Since the beginning of June, more than 200 drunk drivers have been arrested in TMPD road rules enforcement operations conducted throughout Tshwane.
“This weekend from Friday 20 June to Saturday 21 June 2025, 64 drunk drivers were arrested in various locations in Tshwane as follows,” the TMPD said.
Chief of TMPD Commissioner YCR Faro commended the metro police for arresting offenders and warned that those who drive drunk will face the full might of the law.
“If you drink, don’t drive, use Uber and taxi services if you are out celebrating, be responsible,” she advised.
“The Tshwane Metro Police Department promotes a zero-tolerance approach to driving while intoxicated.”
