Friday Night Horror Crash: 5 Perish In Head-On Collision Near Umzumbe River Bridge

Durban – A family of five – mom, dad, and three young children – has perished in a head-on collision involving a Suzuki car and a seven-seater vehicle.

KwaZulu-Natal Transport and Human Settlements spokesperson, Ndabezinhle Sibiya, said the deadly collision occurred along the N2, before Umzumbe River Bridge, late on Friday, 14 November 2025.

“Three children, aged 3-5, and adults believed to be the mother and the father have died instantly,” said Sibiya.

“Other victims, a female and a 14-year-old male, have been rushed to the nearest hospital.”
