Nquthu – A correctional services officer in Nquthu, KwaZulu-Natal, was arrested by the Road Traffic Inspectorate (RTI) with 11 other motorists for speeding and suspected drunk driving.

KwaZulu-Natal Transport and Human Settlements MEC Siboniso Duma said the errant motorists arrested earlier today, Saturday, 23 May 2026, included teachers and an electrician.

“This morning, I received a report from our ‘no nonsense’ RTI Team about the successful execution of the #NenzaniLaEzweni Operation in Nquthu,” MEC Duma stated.

“A total of 12 motorists were arrested for drunk driving.”

The errant motorists were arrested by RTI Park Rynie for speeding along the N2.

“We wish to warn road users that our campaign to remove reckless motorists from our road network is continuing uninterrupted,” said MEC Duma.
