Pretoria – The GOOD Party has announced the termination of Sarah Mabotsa’s membership, a move that ends her tenure as City of Tshwane MMC for Economic Development.
In a joint statement on Monday, 28 September 2026, RISE Mzansi and GOOD Party said they had informed the Executive Mayor and City Manager of the City of Tshwane that Sarah Mabotsa’s membership of the party has been terminated, and that she should be removed as a Councillor and therefore as the MMC for Economic Development.
“The termination follows breaches of the party’s Constitution,” the statement said without providing details.
“Serving as a public representative is a privilege that comes with responsibilities and accountability to the people whom representatives are elected to represent.
“This is a non-negotiable principle regardless of position or proximity to an election”.
In view of the GOOD Party’s cooperation agreement with RISE Mzansi, Mabotsa will be withdrawn as the RISE Mayoral Candidate for Tshwane.
“The parties stand together in their commitment to nominate ethical and credible leaders,” the statement said.
“The Tshwane City Manager confirmed this morning that his office would inform the IEC of the council vacancy today.”
