Johannesburg – A 23-year-old woman has been shot dead in Temong, Mapungubwe Street, Tembisa.
Police spokesperson Brigadier Brenda Muridili said the woman was fatally shot at about 05:45 earlier today, Monday, 28 September 2026.
“The woman was reportedly on her way to work when she was shot and killed during an alleged robbery,” Brigadier Muridili said.
“Her belongings were taken during the incident.”
The deceased has been identified; however, her family is yet to be formally notified.
The murder comes as the 11th body of a murdered woman was discovered inside a cemetery in Tembisa, Ekurhuleni, since July.
“Preliminary investigations have not established any link between this incident and the recent cases involving the bodies of women found in Ekurhuleni,” Brigadier Muridili said.
“No one has been arrested yet, and the police are following up on leads.”
