Pretoria – Police are investigating four murders in Soshanguve, Tshwane, after they found partially burnt bodies that had gunshot wounds.
The grim discovery was made by police in Soshanguve when they responded to a crime scene at Marry Me Informal Settlement Ext 3 at about 06:00.
“The police found four bodies with gunshot wounds and partially burned. Witnesses reported that other victims, confirmed to be eight, were taken to hospital in private vehicles and ambulances,” Gauteng police spokesperson Brigadier Brenda Muridili said Saturday, (22 March 2025).
“Preliminary investigations suggests that at about 03:00, a group of community-based patrollers were converging to continue with their patrols when they noticed five people on the street.
“When the group approached the five, a quarrel broke which ended with four dead and eight injured.”
However, Brigadier Muridili said the motive for the attack would be determined by police investigations.
She said the Provincial and District Serious and Violent Crime Investigations, together with Forensic experts, were still combing the area and interviewing witnesses.
“Public Order Police as well as Soshanguve members are in the area to ensure stability,” said Brigadier Muridili.
