The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has extended the deadline for students to apply for funding to Friday, January 21, 2022.
The initial deadline was today, but NSFAS tweeted: “URGENT ANNOUNCEMENT: The deadline for NSFAS 2022 applications has been extended to Friday, January 21, 2022.”
NSFAS has funded about four million students since its inception in 1999.
The South African government student financial aid scheme provides financial aid to undergraduate students to help pay for the cost of their tertiary education after finishing high school.
It is funded by the Department of Higher Education and Training.
NSFAS has an annual budget of more than R30 billion.
