However, on Tuesday, Mnisi was re-arrested by the Hawks’ Mbombela-based Serious Organised Crime Investigation Unit.
Mnisi is also facing other charges whereby he was also released on bail.
The accused was arrested on suspicion of being involved in the Malelane cash-in-transit robbery in August 2023.
In that matter, Mnisi was released on R5 000 bail by the Malelane Magistrate’s Court.
Mnisi is also a suspect in the Kabokweni murder and armed robbery case that occurred in April 2023.
For that case, he was granted R8 000 bail.
The recent arrest followed after Mnisi was linked through analysis.
Allegations are that on 5 May 2017, a Ram Courier company was delivering cellphones to a Vodacom outlet at Ilanga Mall in Mbombela (Nelspruit).
The courier vehicle was hijacked by armed suspects who took the driver and the crew to the Mattafin area.
The cargo/goods were removed from the courier vehicle and loaded into a Toyota Quantum minibus and the suspects fled the scene.
During further investigation by the Local Criminal Record Centre, Mnisi was linked through fingerprints.
A warrant of arrest was authorised and executed during his court appearance on Tuesday at Kabokweni Magistrate’s Court.
Mnisi was detained and appeared at Nelspruit Magistrate’s Court today, on Wednesday, 20 December 20.
Mnisi was granted R2 000 bail and the case was postponed to 29 March 2024.
