Carolina – Xolani Sidney Simelane, who was arrested for fatally shooting female mine manager Zanele Zwane at her home in Carolina, Mpumalanga, has been released on R20 000 bail. 

The 27-year-old mine manager was shot dead last month on 25 January 2024.

She was found dead inside her bakkie with gunshot wounds. The bakkie was still idling.

Police arrested the 38-year-old suspect at his hideout two days later.

Simelane, who has been behind bars since his arrest, was granted the bail by the Carolina Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, (27 January 2024).
