Cape Town – History seems to be built on love stories curated by lens and forged by fame.
But then there are the quieter and more compelling realities that in 2026 have fundamentally begun to shift the face of modern love.
No longer built on the Hollywood-appraised “Martha Stewart” hierarchy of the home, today we see a parallel storyline emerge.
In an industry frequently distracted by the frivolous nature of digital fame, enter stage left the founders of Cape Town’s Ace Labs: the recently engaged Nadia Jaftha and Reece Meyer.
The very embodiment of synchronised ambition and the new binding force not only for modern relationships, but for global business.
From Corridors to Boardrooms
Their love story began years earlier, in the familiar corridors of school, where they moved through the same world without yet knowing that life was placing them on a shared path.
Nadia remembers their history with the kind of warmth that refuses to be polished into a corporate package.
At the time, they were “passing ships”, she says, aware of each other, but not yet close enough to understand what would unfold.
Years later, those passing ships would become something far more deliberate: first a shared ambition, then a strategic alliance, and finally a deeply bound union that has redrawn the blueprint of contemporary devotion, on a global stage.
“When we really stop and think about it, it does feel surreal,” says Nadia Jaftha, Co-Founder of Ace Labs..
“We were genuinely best friends first, and that will always remain our north star.
“When we eventually connected on a deeper level, it didn’t feel as if we were forcing puzzle pieces together; we just fit.
“There was a mutual understanding of the work ethic, the values, the pressure, the vision, and the sacrifice required to build something meaningful.”-
Bespoke Content; Bespoke Couple
Often thrown around, the phrase “power couple” has lost its depth. In celebrity culture, it can become a shorthand for visibility, glamour, and carefully managed public success.
What differentiates Nadia and Reece’s story is that their influence has not been built on distance from reality, but on a foundational intimacy with the world they represent, a groundedness that has compounded their shared value over time.
Their journey has been shaped by South African grit, family values, shared humour and, most importantly, a fierce refusal to wait for permission.
This is not a chronicle of individuals arriving fully formed at the summit of fame; rather, this is a story told through the sweat of the building process.
Through failure, recalibration, and the refusal to trade raw authenticity for a curated digital sheen.
For Nadia and Reece, success is inherently plural.
It’s found not only in their partnership but in the collective heartbeat of the community that defines Ace Labs: a formidable “army” of team members, creators, disruptors, brand partners, and collaborators who continue to shape their shared legacy.
“It was never just about the two of us,” says Nadia.
“Behind everything we’ve built is community, team, family, creators, collaborators, and the people who helped shape the journey long before it looked like anything.
“We never wanted success to disconnect us from where we come from. If anything, our roots are what make the work feel authentic.”
Brick by Brick
At the heart of their shared business, Ace Labs, is a story that feels distinctly local: ambitious, unpolished in the best possible way, deeply human, and built with the kind of discipline that rarely happens overnight.
Co-founded by Nadia and Reece, Ace Labs has become a Cape Town-based global creative intelligence lab shaped by the powerful meeting point of influence, data and storytelling.
The foundation embodies a practice that stems from a profound respect for South African culture.
Almost as if in ode to their beautifully balanced partnership, Nadia brings the instinct of a creator who understands emotional connection, community, and cultural timing, while Reece provides the strategic brand architecture, tech, data, and commercial rigour which allows creativity to scale.
Together, they have built an ecosystem that converts influence into measurable impact, transforming creative talent into sustainable, long-term revenue streams for both their clients and the broader creator economy.
The genesis of Ace Labs lies in a fundamental gap within the South African creator economy: a lack of synergy between corporate appetite and creative authenticity.
Brands today understand that cultural currency is non-negotiable, yet many fail to grasp the pulse of the creative communities they wish to enter.
On the other side of the spectrum, the local creative spirit beats with immense influence but often falters under a staggered understanding of professional strategy.
Ace Labs bloomed to occupy this vacuum, acting as a translator between two worlds, empowering brands to move more intelligently while giving creators the confidence and commercial context to build a future that lasts.
“When we started Ace Labs, we saw the uncharted grey space between brands and creators,” says Reece Meyer, Co-Founder of Ace Labs.
“Brands wanted cultural relevance but didn’t fully understand creator culture or how to connect with communities in an authentic way.
“As a brand strategist, I also saw how many talented people had influence and creativity but lacked the strategy and infrastructure to turn that into long-term, sustainable careers.”
The company’s “brick by brick” philosophy has become more than a phrase. Inside the business, it’s reflected in the pace of The Lab, the collaborative problem-solving and the way Nadia and Reece remain close to the work.
Staff describe a culture that is dynamic, fast-moving, disruptive, and demanding, but never detached.
As one team member puts it, “success at Ace Labs is built through consistency, relationships and showing up for one another, with no one acting above any task.”
That same principle has shaped Nadia and Reece’s relationship.
Working together revealed every side of each other, and rather than weakening their connection, the pressure of building a profitable entity became part of its foundation.
“Building a business together shows you every side of a person very quickly,” says Nadia.
“You learn how to handle pressure, disappointment, risk, conflict, and everything in between that people don’t usually show on social media.
“When you build something brick by brick alongside someone, there’s a different level of respect that develops.”
Bridging the Great Divide
For Nadia and Reece, Ace Labs has always carried a larger purpose.
Their ambition is not only to grow an agency, but to help reshape how South Africa sees its creative economy.
The initiative is built on a commitment to democratisation, ensuring local creators, tastemakers, and key opinion leaders (KOLs) have an equal opportunity to claim a definitive seat at the table.
This is a move away from viewing creators as transactional vehicles for driving sales or extracting community data; instead, it recognises them as legitimate, enduring industry voices and digital entrepreneurs who are shaping the future of commerce.
“For so long, people felt like they had to sound more American, look more polished, or water themselves down to succeed on the global stage,” says Nadia.
“But the world connects most with what’s real.
“The next generation shouldn’t have to ask if this is a real career anymore. They should already know it is.”
As Ace Labs enters its next chapter, Nadia and Reece are architecting more than a brand; they are exporting a legacy of South African ambition, proving (as partners in life and purpose) that the most formidable futures are built brick by brick.
